Volunteer Housing

We have some low cost housing available. One of our directors, Mark Turner, has provided this housing to help volunteers afford to stay longer. He has donated all the furniture as well as fitting out kitchens, extra bathrooms and in some cases building in bedrooms etc. One is a house that he owns, the others are leased and the contribution that volunteers make helps pay the rent, power bills, running costs, repairs etc. The houses all have fully equipped kitchens, fans, washing machines, TVs, wi fi Internet connection and are situated in the historic town center of Granada, a short walk from our office. The charges, effective September 2011, are $23 per week per person in a dorm style room. We have some double rooms for couples which are $46, and some single rooms which are $43. Sheets and towels are provided, plus we employ local women who do the basic cleaning.
Other housing options in town are home-stays which charge $100 - $120 per week. Private apartments which can cost from $300 per month upwards, and of course there are hostels and hotels (dorm beds from $5 per night, private rooms from $10 per night, and up to top end hotels with rooms at $120 per night.
