Hello! My name is Jonel Isaías Pérez Jarquín. I am 9 years old, and I am in fourth grade at Nueva Esperanza School. I consider myself a very friendly and cooperative boy; I like to support my classmates. My family is made up of my mom, Cinthia; my dad, who lives in Costa Rica; and my two brothers, David and Dasil. At home, I help by sweeping the yard, taking out the trash, and doing my school homework.

I enjoy playing soccer with my neighbors—we organize tournaments, and it’s a lot of fun. My favorite color is blue because I love looking at the sky. I don’t watch much TV, but my favorite movie is The Lion King, which I always watch with my brothers, making it special. The person who takes care of me is my older brother, since my mom is a homemaker. What makes me happiest is when my whole family is together. I feel sad that my dad isn’t here, but I know he works hard to provide for us.

When I grow up, I would like to be a police officer because I believe justice is important.

At the Pantanal Learning Center, I’ve learned a lot—especially in math, which I love. I also enjoy the themed afternoons because I learn something new every time. I’m a very cheerful boy, and I believe I’m capable of achieving anything I set my mind to. I want to keep going to the Pantanal Center because I have so much fun and I care about my teachers.

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Jonel Isaías Pérez Jarquín, tengo 9 años y estoy en cuarto grado de primaria en el Colegio Nueva Esperanza. Me considero un niño muy amigable y cooperativo; me gusta apoyar a mis compañeros. Mi familia está conformada por mi mamá, Cinthia, mi papá, que vive en Costa Rica, y mis dos hermanos, David y Dasil. En casa, ayudo barriendo el patio, botando la basura y haciendo mis tareas de la escuela.

Me gusta jugar fútbol con mis vecinos; armamos torneos y es muy entretenido. Mi color favorito es el azul porque me fascina ver el cielo. No miro mucha televisión, pero mi película favorita es “El Rey León”, que siempre veo con mis hermanos, lo que la hace especial. La persona que me cuida es mi hermano mayor, ya que mi mamá es ama de casa. Lo que más me hace feliz es cuando toda mi familia está junta. Me pone triste que mi papá no esté, pero sé que trabaja para darnos lo que necesitamos. Cuando sea grande, me gustaría ser policía porque creo que es importante la justicia.

En el centro de Aprendizaje Pantanal he aprendido mucho, especialmente en matemáticas, que me encantan. También disfruto las tardes temáticas porque aprendo algo nuevo. Soy un niño muy alegre y me considero capaz de lograr lo que me digan. Quiero seguir asistiendo al centro Pantanal, ya que me divierto mucho y quiero a mis profesores.
