Hello! My name is Alexa Nahomy Sotelo Pineda, I am 10 years old, and I am in third grade at the José de la Cruz Mena Educational Center. Last year, I had to repeat the grade because I barely attended class. I consider myself a very capable girl, although I get very shy sometimes. I live with my mom, María Elena, who works in the department of Managua, although I’m not exactly sure what she does, and with my dad, Marvin Sotelo, who works in construction. I have eight siblings: María Fernanda, Katherine, Aisha, Rose, Joshua, Nathalie, and Deyni. We are a big family, and I love them very much.

I like playing soccer and I love fried chicken. My hobbies include watching cartoons, and my favorite color is purple. The animal I like the most is the rabbit because it is soft and affectionate. However, I’m scared of horror movies because they frighten me a lot, especially at night, so I hold on to my mom or my siblings.

What makes me happiest is having many friends at the Pantanal Center. When I grow up, I would like to be a doctor so I can help and take care of people, just as I was taught. Even though I am a kind girl, I am also shy, as I often fear the unknown, but I always try my best. I consider myself good at business because I like selling things.

At the Pantanal Learning Center, I have learned a lot, from numbers in math to reading and interpreting in Spanish. I’ve also learned English, how to use computers, and values like respect. I’ve learned to know myself better and to manage my emotions.

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Alexa Nahomy Sotelo Pineda, tengo 10 años y estoy en tercer grado de primaria en el Centro Educativo José de la Cruz Mena, el año pasado tuve que repetir porque casi no iba a clases. Me considero una niña muy capaz, aunque a veces me da mucha pena. Vivo con mi mamá, María Elena, quien trabaja en el departamento de Managua, aunque no sé exactamente en qué, y con mi papá, Marvin Sotelo, que trabaja en construcción. Tengo ocho hermanos: María Fernanda, Katherine, Aisha, Rose, Joshua, Nathalie y Deyni. Somos una gran familia, y los quiero mucho.

Me gusta jugar al fútbol y amo el pollo frito. Mis pasatiempos incluyen ver caricaturas, y mi color favorito es el morado. El animal que más me gusta es el conejo, porque son suaves y cariñosos. Sin embargo, tengo miedo de las películas de terror, ya que me asustan mucho, especialmente de noche; por eso, me agarro de mi madre o mis hermanos.

Lo que más me hace feliz es tener muchos amigos en el centro Pantanal Cuando sea grande, me gustaría ser doctora para ayudar y cuidar a las personas, como me enseñaron. A pesar de ser una niña amable, también soy penosa, ya que a menudo me da miedo lo desconocido, pero siempre lo intento. Me considero una niña buena para los negocios ya que me gusta vender.

En el centro de Aprendizaje Pantanal he aprendido mucho, desde números en matemáticas hasta leer e interpretar en español. También he aprendido inglés, cómo usar computadoras y valores como el respeto. He aprendido a conocerme mejor y a manejar mis emociones.
