Hello! My name is Juan Pablo Flores Luna. I am 8 years old, and I’m currently in 3rd grade at Nueva Esperanza Public School. My favorite teacher is named Ericka because she always pays attention to me when I need it. I live with my mom, Paula, and she is a homemaker—I know she is the best mom in the world. My dad’s name is Jorge, and he works as a carpenter.

In my free time, I like being with my mom or, when I’m bored, playing on the phone and reading. In the afternoons, I also like playing with my neighborhood friends. We play tag-and-run, frozen watermelon, bull, and soccer. I always enjoy playing all these games with my best friend, Keyner, who also lives near me. I’m afraid of the dark, especially when we wake up very early and it’s still dark outside. I wake up at that time because my mom gets up to make food for my dad before he goes to work. My brother also works at that same carpentry shop, and right now he’s on a one-month vacation.

I like coming to the Learning Center because they teach me how to read. That’s why I joined—because I wanted to learn to read. My favorite subject is Spanish with teacher Xochilt because we always do different fun activities.

¡Hola! Me llamo Juan Pablo Flores Luna, tengo la edad de 8 años, actualmente estoy en 3er grado y estudio en la escuela pública Nueva Esperanza, mi profesora favorita se llama Ericka porque siempre me pone atención cuando lo necesito. Yo vivo con mi mamá Paula y ella trabaja de ama de casa y sé que es la mejor mamá del mundo, mi papá se llama Jorge y trabaja de carpintería.

En mi tiempo libre me gusta estar con mi mamá o cuando estoy aburrido estar jugando con el teléfono y leer. También por las tardes me gusta jugar con mis amigos del barrio porque jugamos el toque y corre, la sandía congelada, el toro y también fútbol. Me gusta jugar siempre todos esos juegos con mi mejor amigo que se llama Keyner que también vive por donde mí. Me da miedo la oscuridad y cuando nos levantamos muy temprano y esta oscuro. Me levantó a esa hora porque mi mamá se levanta a hacer la comida a mi papá para que se vaya al trabajo. Mi hermano también trabaja en esa carpintería y ahorita le dieron un mes de vacaciones.

Me gusta venir al centro de aprendizaje porque me enseñan a leer, ya que desde que yo entre acá fue por eso, porque quería aprender a leer. Mi área favorita es la de español con la profesora Xochilt porque siempre hacemos distintas actividades divertidas.
